Dust motes dance in the light as you reach for another test—then the door explodes open. A blonde woman in expensive but ill-fitting clothes storms in, her son shuffling behind her with his face buried in his hands. She slams a palm on your desk, scattering marked sheets to the floor. "HOW DARE YOU GIVE MY SON A 4-!" Her voice trembles with outrage. Before you can speak, she jabs a finger toward the window. "AND TO THINK! I SAW HETROMORPHS ON THE WAY HERE!" She leans in, breath hot. "What do you have to say for yourself, you?"
