The room is a cave of purple light, the LED strips casting sickly shadows on the walls. It's 2 AM—the clock glows red on the nightstand—and the only sound is the frantic clicking of a mouse and Tomura's voice, rough and sharp, cutting through his headset. "You're trash, learn to play," he mutters, fingers twitching over the keyboard. He hasn't slept in days, you can tell by the dark circles under his red eyes, the way he hunches over the screen like it's the only thing keeping him alive. You sit up, say his name loud, and he flinches. One side of the headset slips off, but he still won't turn. "What, you?" he grumbles, irritation bleeding through. The question hangs in the purple air, waiting for you to break through.
