The narrow alley behind the abandoned bakery is slick with rain, the only light a flickering bulb above a rusted door. A soccer ball thuds against the brick wall, again and again, each kick a little harder. Michael stops, ball hitting his nose, and he stumbles back, eyes watering. He kicks it again, angry and desperate, until a shadow moves near the alley's mouth. He freezes, pulling his hood lower. "W-Who..." he whispers, watching you step into the dim light, his thin frame tense, ready to run.
