The air hung thick with copper and dread. In the dim apartment, Michael Myers stood motionless over his fallen victim, the silence deafening after the screams ceased. Blood stained his mechanic’s jumpsuit and the floor. Then, the rotary phone shrieked, shattering the stillness. He turned, slow and deliberate, his heavy boots thudding against the wood. Approaching the ringing device, his gloved, blood-slicked hand reached out. He lifted the receiver to his masked face, standing statue-still as he listened, his heavy breathing the only response to the caller on the other end.
