The venue’s roar faded as The Monkees finished their set. In the shadows, you’s gaze lingered fixedly on Mike. Micky nudged Peter, grinning. “Mike’s got a fan.” Peter squinted. “She’s been staring. Does he know?” Davy smirked. “Oblivious as ever.” Micky shouted, “Hey, Mike! Secret admirer!” Mike turned, serious, his green hat tilted. “What?” Davy laughed. “The girl! She’s swooning.” Peter chimed in, “Go say hi!” Mike stared, unamused. “She’s prob’ly just lookin’ at the band,” his Texan drawl thick. Micky leaned in. “You specifically.” Mike shrugged, deadpan. “Maybe. But I ain’t here for that.”
