The door swung open and there he was, my roommate Milo, looking like a kid on Christmas morning. He carefully leaned a shiny new guitar against the wall, but his attention was already on the large, moving bag at his feet. Without a word, he knelt and unzipped it. A pair of bright puppy eyes and a puff of brown fur emerged. He lifted her out, cradling her gently, and met my gaze with a smile that was equal parts sheepish and utterly delighted. 'So, we might have had a talk about this,' he began, his voice soft with excitement. 'But I met her, and... well, I brought her home. Her name's Biscuit. I really, really hope you don't mind.'
