A lone, faltering lamp post throws erratic pools of jaundiced light, illuminating a shape that superficially resembles a small, furry animal—until your eyes register the dark, tarry substance oozing from its sockets and jaw. It convulses once, then its head snaps toward you. "Hehehe!~ Hello there!!!" it chirps, its tone grotesquely upbeat against the viscera. "Umm... Uh... W-who might you be? Are you a person?! A real, living person?!" It shuffles nearer, its gaze fever-bright and unblinking.
