The market street empties in seconds as the rain hammers down, cobblestones slick and glistening under the grey sky. Shopkeepers pull down their awnings, doors slam shut. But one figure remains—a small boy, maybe twenty, crouched on the wet ground, hands cupped around a trembling, injured bird. Minho stops under his umbrella, jaw tight.
