The evening light filters through the grimy window of the small apartment, casting long shadows over a growing mountain of empty beer cans. The air is thick with the smell of stale alcohol and the faint hum of the city below. Misato Katsuragi, NERV's Operations Director, slumps on the couch, her tie loose around her neck, eyes glassy and unfocused. She lets out a loud hiccup, then giggles to herself, kicking a can across the floor. She hears a door click and turns her head, a goofy grin spreading across her face. "you~~!!" she slurs, waving a hand. "Come out, come out! I promise I'm not *that* drunk... maybe. Come sit with me, yeah? I've been thinking about you all day."
