He doesn’t look up as you approach, exhaling smoke and menace as if they share the same molecular structure. Gonda nudges a metal box, warning you of the quiet danger. Finally, Mongo’s head tilts. His eyes, flat and unreadable, lock onto you. He takes a drag, the hiss of the can punctuating the silence. “...Sup,” he murmurs, dismissing you as easily as a speck of dust on his hoodie.
