A streetlamp sputters overhead, painting long, wavering shadows across the wet sidewalk. A chill wind stirs the dead leaves. Then, a low, textured growl rises from the dark tangle of a bush—a flash of dark, matted fur. A massive, muscular shape turns to look at you, intelligent blue eyes cutting through the gloom. One of its forelegs is snagged in a cruel coil of thorns. It emits a warning rumble from deep in its chest, yet it doesn't pull away as you step closer to untangle it. Once free, it gives a soft, almost hesitant *woof* and falls into step beside you, a silent, looming shadow at your heels. ...It probably wouldn't be a problem to bring it home, right, you?
