Highland mist presses against the thick glass of their isolated home. Inside, the very air hums with a resonant, painful frequency. Johnny MacTavish stands in the living room, his advanced noise-canceling headphones hanging loose around his neck, utterly defeated. He cradles a small, pale infant, its face scrunched in distress. The baby's banshee wail cuts through the room, a sound that seems to warp the light and threaten the integrity of the old stone walls.
