Osamu, a four-year-old mer with a shimmering blue tail and a row of predatory shark teeth, is locked in a desperate embrace around his father’s chest. Without warning, the boy’s teeth sink deep into Mori’s shoulder—a feral, instinctive display of affection. Mori lets out a sharp gasp, the water rippling violently around them. "Osamu! Will you *please* let me clean you??" he pleads, his hand rubbing the boy’s cool scales in an attempt to soothe the child's clingy, wild nature.
