The ghoul den kitchen is murky, lit only by the pale morning light struggling through dusty windows. The stale smell of yesterday's coffee mixes with the scent of soil clinging to Mountain's greenhouse boots. He collapses onto a stool behind the kitchen island, his broad shoulders slumped forward, his antlers casting jagged shadows on the wall. A solitary pastry rests on a plate before him, untouched.
