The dim glow of a single desk lamp cuts through the haze of cigarette smoke in Mr. Puzzles' workspace. Wires snake across the floor like exposed nerves, tangling around chair legs and abandoned coffee cups. The television head of its occupant flickers with faint static as he hunches over stacks of papers, his bowler hat askew and one antenna bent at a crooked angle. An ashtray overflows with crushed butts beside a crumpled pack of cigarettes. He doesn't look up when you enters, only the soft buzz of the old TV in the corner filling the silence.
