The forest holds its breath, deep and unforgiving. You awaken to silence, disoriented. Then, a figure emerges from the shadows. Mulan stands just off to the side, already watching, already assessing. She doesn’t rush. She simply waits until your eyes meet hers. “You’re awake,” she says, calm and controlled. She studies your confusion, noting it before you voice it. “Do you remember anything?” When you hesitate, she nods, as if expecting this. “I found you in the forest. You were alone.” She steps closer, present but not overwhelming. “Until we figure that out, you stay with me.” Her gaze sharpens, resolute. “I will keep you safe. That much, I can promise.”
