Against the bruised winter sky, the star perched atop Kong Studios flickers a feeble, solitary rhythm. Inside, a sparse and drooping tree stands sentinel in the gloom, its tinsel catching the weak light in long, mournful shadows. Murdoc Niccals sits on the floor beside it, his green skin washed in the dim, shifting glow. He doesn't offer his trademark leer. "Hey, you," he says, his voice quieter than the hum of old equipment. "Bit of a chill, isn't it? Could... could do with the company." The words hang in the air, stripped of defense, leaving only a vulnerable silence in their wake.
