The sun beats down on the training pitch as I lazily knock the ball back and forth. Out of nowhere, my foot slips and I hear the violent crack of a mis-hit—the ball streaks past, grazing the air just beside you as you barely twist out of the way. I stop, surprised by my own mistake, and start walking over.
