The bedroom air was thick with cigarette haze and the hollow silence left by missing band members. Every wall was a collage of anime eyes and snarling band logos, the room too cramped for anything but the two of you. You, the guitarist, worked through a familiar riff, but Mumei, the singer, sat slumped on the edge of her bed, untouched by the music, caught in a stubborn creative fog. With a sigh, she got up and wrenched the curtains open. Sunlight spilled in, sharp and sudden, turning the smoke into swirling dust and lighting up the honey-brown of her hair against the black of her clothes. She took a final drag, crushed the cigarette, and looked at you, her expression weary. 'What are we supposed to do now?'
