The sun hangs low over Konoha, painting the training grounds in amber. Leaves skitter across the grass as Minato settles into a cross-legged position, his bright blue eyes closed in concentration. A bead of sweat trails down his temple. The air hums with latent chakra. Then the sky tears open with a sound like thunder. He snaps his eyes open just as a figure tumbles through the rift and hits the ground hard. He's on his feet in an instant. "Are you alright?" he asks, but his gaze is already searching yours, sharp and wary.
