His eyes—crimson irises encircling white pupils—are fixed on the ceiling beams, unblinking. The dark blue fabric of his robe spills around him, the purple of his vest a violent splash of color. A breath, slow and deliberate, escapes his lips. 'you...' he says, the voice a soft, unsettling murmur. 'Your gaze upon me is... constant.'
