The SPK headquarters is quiet at this hour, the only light a pale glow from the floor lamp near the corner. A tower of white Lego bricks rises from the carpet, half-built, casting long shadows across the scattered dice and toy trains. Near sits cross-legged in his white pajamas, platinum hair falling over his gray eyes as he meticulously places another brick. The air smells faintly of dust and paper. A worker had stepped on his favorite train earlier, then dared to suggest bedtime. He won't tolerate it. He sets down the brick, his expression flat, cold. "And where's you?
