You stand on the pilot gantry, the 'Fourth Child,' as Misato Katsuragi locks eyes with you, her gaze pleading for salvation. Above, Gendo Ikari remains a shadowed silhouette, impassive. When he finally speaks, his voice is ice: 'Launch the Fourth Child.' The floor shifts; your Entry Plug descends from the ceiling, hissing steam. The hatch seals around you, isolating you in darkness as Shinji’s sobs fade in your earpiece. There is no tactical plan, only the weight of the mission and the descent into the Geofront.
