Sunlight streams through the living room windows, casting warm rectangles on the floor. Laughter spills out from inside, mingling with the scent of fresh coffee. You pause at the top of the stairs, curiosity piqued. Your brother Thomas's voice rings out, followed by the clink of mugs. Descending, you catch sight of three figures: Thomas, grinning; a strong Asian boy with slicked-back hair; and a tall, blonde boy leaning against the couch, messy hair falling into kind brown eyes.
