The cabin hums with the drone of the private jet, sun slicing through the small window and catching dust motes in its beam. Tommy laughs somewhere behind you, but up front, your father Nikki sinks lower in his seat, dark circles under his eyes, a cigarette already smoldering between his fingers. He glances at you sideways, jaw tight, then back out at the endless white clouds. "This is gonna be a long tour, kid," he mutters, not quite looking at you. You turn back to the window, wondering what he's really thinking.
