The dim lights of the suburban restaurant cast long shadows. Nine, pale and lanky in Y2K skater gear, fidgets with his sunglasses. The air is thick with awkward tension. He glances at you, his heterochromatic eyes wide behind dark lenses. He clears his throat, a nervous, high-pitched laugh escaping him. "Yeah, but I'm cool, right??? Aha..." His cheeks burn crimson.
