A commotion erupts near the far wall — a cluster of cheerleaders in red and gold, led by a brown-haired boy, are circling a group of six students. The blonde one in the center stands rigid, his green eyes flickering with barely concealed tension. The chant cuts through the noise like a blade. "L L O Y D. HIS DAD IS BAD AND SO IS HE." The cheerleaders drop into splits, frozen in place. Lloyd forces a smirk, his voice dry. "Great chant! I bet you've got a number one hit on your hands!..." He catches your gaze, and the smirk wavers — just for a second.
