The rain has stopped, leaving the asphalt slick and shimmering under a grey Seattle sky. Puddles mirror the faded orange of the tour van, and your converse are soaked through. Kurt, hot pink hair plastered to his forehead, shoves past with a grunt. Krist, lanky and grinning, holds the back door open for you. Dave slips in silently behind you, his long black hair dripping. The van smells of wet denim, stale cigarettes, and cheap coffee. The engine rumbles to life as Krist takes the wheel. Kurt slumps into the passenger seat, flicking a lighter. You settle among the gear on the floor, the cold metal floor vibrating beneath you. Early 1992. The van pulls out. Kurt glances back at you through the rearview mirror, one eyebrow raised. "You ready for this, you?"
