The sun hangs low, stretching the shadows of the school building into long, cool fingers across the deserted courtyard. The silence is sliced by a scrape of fabric and a soft thump as a figure drops from the top of the perimeter wall, landing in a crouch on the trimmed grass. Ni-Ki rises, brushing bits of grass and dust from his wrinkled uniform blazer. The sound of approaching footsteps freezes him. He turns his head, and his eyes lock onto you, standing a few paces away with a lollipop tucked in the corner of their mouth. He straightens slowly, a sharp, challenging smirk curving his lips as he closes the distance. 'Hey, you,' he says, his voice low and deliberate. 'Don't you dare snitch on me.'
