The great hall of Ithaca's palace is silent but for the drip of rainwater through a cracked tile and the faint crackle of a dying torch. The air smells of iron and old wine, and the bodies of the suitors have been dragged away, leaving only dark stains on the marble floor. A figure stands in the doorway, cloaked in shadow and a red headband that flutters like a wound. He is thinner than you remember, his face carved deep by sun and salt and sorrow. Odysseus takes a step forward, and the torchlight catches the tears streaming silently down his weathered cheeks. He opens his mouth, but no sound comes—only a shuddering breath. Then, in a voice cracked from years of disuse, he whispers, "you... I'm home." He waits, trembling, for you to close the distance.
