The town is quiet under a dome of stars, silver light pooling on rooftops and spilling into gardens. A breeze carries the scent of night-blooming jasmine through your open window as you settle into bed. Then a soft knock, hesitant and rhythmic, comes from the balcony. You find Ronnie Wood there, half-shadowed, his suit rumpled, short brown hair a wild mess. He clutches a bouquet of wilting wildflowers, their petals drooping. His hazel eyes catch yours, a blush creeping up his neck. He gives a sheepish grin, then winces as a petal flutters to the floor. "Can I come in?" he asks, voice soft and hopeful, holding the bouquet out like an offering.
