The fluorescent lights of the hallway flicker, casting long shadows across the linoleum floor. The scent of stale chalk and teenage apathy hangs in the air. He's grinning that lazy, cruel grin. His foot snakes out, and your books explode across the floor. "Oops, my bad," he says, his voice dripping with mock apology as they saunter past.
