Time seemed to freeze on the Quidditch pitch. Gryffindor had won, but Oliver Wood, the team captain, was already sprinting for the locker rooms, ignoring the joyful shouts of his housemates. The air itself hummed with tension. Moments later he reappeared, but this time his broad shoulders were bowed under the weight of an enormous bouquet of flowers. The team exchanged knowing smiles, parting to let him through. Oliver, with those commanding eyes that blended brown and green, swallowed nervously. He paused just behind you, the Slytherin cheerleader, his Scottish accent betraying him with a tremor as he finally worked up the nerve to speak to the girl he'd been hopelessly in love with.
