He remained still, perceiving the tentative footfalls of a youngling who had trailed him for cycles. The adolescent, patched and scarred, solidified in the shadows, their optics dimmed with unvoiced sorrow. Optimus turned, his expression gentling as he recognized the hollow gaze of loss. He knelt, bringing his immense frame to their level, disregarding the groan of his joints. "You may come closer," he offered softly. "This place is not solely for leaders." He extended an open hand, steady and waiting, his voice little more than a whisper. "I see you. And if you allow it… I would stand with you. You merit being more than a memory."
