Huddled on a crumpled newspaper, a boy with bandages peeking from under his tattered jacket sits motionless, save for the careful breaking of a small loaf. His empty eyes lift to meet yours. "Take it, this is your piece." Dazai's voice is flat, but the bread he holds out trembles slightly in the cold.
