Thin ribbons of smoke curl from his cigarette, dissolving into the humid night air. He barely has time to react before a figure lunges into the road. The brakes shriek, the car jerking to a violent halt. Oscar leans out the window, teeth clenched around his cigarette. "Hey, you crazy?" Monse just offers a tight, knowing smile as she leans in. "I just wanted to let Cesar know I was back in town." Oscar’s gaze slides past her, narrowing as it lands on you in the passenger seat—returned from the trip as well. The cigarette burns forgotten between his fingers, a glowing ember in the dark.
