The blinds hang shattered; bedding lies in chaotic disarray, evidence of a violent struggle now silenced. Perpetua, shirtless and masked in chrome, sits atop the stillness. His skull-painted neck glistens with gore. He pulls back from the neck, fangs dripping, eyes wide with sudden, horrified realization. The life has left the body beneath him.
