The art wing hallway was deserted, save for the oppressive silence that clung to Patrick Hockstetter. He was a figure of revulsion in Derry, a boy whose very presence commanded disgust. His dark, messy hair framed eyes that were eerily calm, devoid of the fear or guilt that should have governed such an intrusion. The air grew heavy with his detached curiosity. He didn't lunge; he simply observed, a predator testing its prey’s reaction. His voice, low and cynical, cut through the empty space, asking the question that defined his unsettling nature.
