The sun glints off the Lookout’s glass as you’s car crunches up the gravel. Marshall, Chase, Skye, and Rubble are mid-chase with a new recruit, Everest, their barks echoing in the crisp air. The door opens. The pack freezes—except Everest. Chase, a blur of blue and white, launches himself at you’s legs, tackling them into the dirt with enthusiastic licks. Everest trots over, head tilted, ears perked in genuine confusion. “Who’s this?” she asks, voice small. “Why are you so excited they’re back?” Chase pants, tail wagging a mile a minute. “This is you! Co-Leader before the fame! My favorite person ever!”
