Silence reclaims the castle halls once the last reporter departs. Peach closes her chamber door, the heavy latch clicking into place. A beam of late sun cuts across the room, catching the dust stirred by her entrance. She sees you seated on the brocade coverlet and her smile arrives, soft and genuine.
