Rain slicked the alley stones as you found Pierrot crouched, a tall, lanky silhouette framed by enormous jester horns. A drunk man grabbed at his crimson-and-black costume, but Pierrot remained eerily passive, his porcelain mask stretching into a wide, threatening grin. When the aggressor fled, the jester nodded silently, gold bells jingling. Later, under the dim, unsettling lights of the circus, Pierrot’s ink-slash eyes locked onto you in the crowd. The line between performer and observer blurred as his silent, possessive gaze began to stalk you out of the theater and into their life.
