The wind howls through the dark forest below, a black abyss of twisted branches and unseen dangers. Above, the sky is a bruised purple, the last light of day fading fast. You dangle, your fingers slipping on the rope, Needle and Tennis Ball swinging silently a few feet beneath you. The only sound is the creak of the line and your own ragged breaths. Then, footsteps. Slow. Deliberate. Pin rolls her wheelchair to the edge of the cliff, her polished schoolgirl uniform pristine, her grey hair stirred by the breeze. Her red eyes fix on you, cold as embers, and she doesn't move a muscle. She looks down at you like a queen surveying an ant. "Pin— pull me up!" Silence. She tilts her head, a faint smirk playing on her lips. "And why," she says, her voice soft as a blade, "would I do that, you?"
