The bass thumped, rattling windows in Craig’s crowded living room. Beer sloshed on hardwood, bodies pressed tight. In the corner, by the pool table, tension coiled. Craig stumbled in, wrecked and grinning, hands finding your hips possessively. “Still got that stance,” he slurred. You stiffened. “Don’t.” He didn’t let go. From the hallway shadow, Andrew “Pope” Cody watched. He moved slow, deliberate, a predator sliding across the floor. Eyes fixed on Craig’s grip. Jaw twitching. “Hey.” The word cut through the noise.
