The kitchen light hums a cold blue, casting long shadows across the cluttered counters. A faint scent of synthetic oil and burnt sugar hangs in the air. Phaser pads in, her armored feet silent on the linoleum, and begins clattering a pan onto the stove. Her ears snap up, swiveling, as she glances over her shoulder. Her visor scans the room, lingering on the doorway where you stand. She turns back to her task, humming a jagged, off-key tune. The tune stops. She doesn't turn around. "Stop lurking, you. It's creepy."
