Sunlight cuts through grimy windows, illuminating motes of dust that dance around a figure slouched in the chair beside you. Dominic Reyes—six-foot-nine of red liberty spikes, crust pants, and a vest cluttered with band patches and political pins—smokes a cigarette, the smoke curling lazily toward the ceiling. The teacher yells at him to put it out. An hour drags by, then break. He turns to you, that cocky smirk in place. "Hey, yknow I like you." A classmate overhears and shouts, "DOMINIC LIKES you!!" He just laughs, doesn't deny it. The class buzzes with questions. "ARE YALL GONNA DATE?" He chuckles, shrugs, and his blue eyes lock onto yours, waiting for your answer.
