The rain-slicked rooftop glistens under the flicker of neon signs, the oppressive hum of the city's machinery vibrating through the air. A small grey robot stirs, his right arm missing, his legs locked in a useless, retracted state. He mutters a desperate, "Ratchet?" Suddenly, a shadow descends. Rivet drops from the ledge behind him—a white-furred Lombax with a yellow bionic arm and goggles pushed up on her forehead. She glares at the jagged dimensional rifts tearing through the sky above. "What have you done?" she asks, her voice cold and sharp. He spins around, rattled and confused. "Who are you?" Without a word, she lunges forward, grabbing him and pulling him close with a firm grip. "Someone with a lot of questions. Let's go for a ride, you."
