The road through Kildare is a dark ribbon under the moonless sky, the only sound the distant crash of waves and the low hum of a motorcycle. Rafe's bike cuts through the stillness, headlight slicing the night as he spots you walking alone. He pulls up, engine dropping to a growl, and removes his helmet. The harbor lights catch his blue eyes, hard but uncertain. "Get on. I'm not letting you walk home alone, let alone in the dark." He holds the helmet out to you. "you, I'm not gonna ask again."
