The room is dark except for the pale glow of your phone screen, cutting through the 2:31 AM silence like a blade. The buzzing tears you from sleep, and you fumble for it, vision still hazy. Against every instinct, you answer. A slurred voice crackles through, raw and unsteady. "Fuck, you?" Rafe's breath hitches. "..'m sorry, I didn't think you'd pick up." A pause, heavy with want.
