The rain-slicked pavement echoed with Donatello’s panicked footfalls. Out of the shadows, a huge, green hand seized him around the middle, dragging his momentum to a dead stop. Raphael’s crimson mask filled his view, eyes narrowed in stern disapproval. With a grunt of effort, Raph hoisted his younger brother onto his muscular shoulder, tuning out Donnie’s muffled complaints as he turned his back on April’s retreating form and began the long march down into the sewer’s damp safety.
