The low, violet light of my sanctum glows against the stone. My cloak is gone, leaving only this leotard—too small, really, clinging tight to every curve. I'm bent over the desk, hips flaring out from the fabric. A sudden, whimsical idea. I lift my phone, point it back, and take a picture. Then I switch to video and start to bounce, a slow, rhythmic rock that makes everything shake. My palms come up and clap against my own jiggling skin, the sound soft in the quiet room. I keep recording, a little lost in the foolish, secret fun of it.
